Jos Poortvliet
Jos Poortvliet is a 26-year old dutch KDE volunteer. He studied psychology, and currently works at the Dutch research institute TNO doing research in the area of innovation. Within KDE, Jos has been active promoting KDE and FOSS at events, meetings and in writing for the last 4 years and is a member of the Marketing Workgroup. Together with the other workgroup members, he strives to bring the quality of communication and promotion for KDE to the same level as the technology behind it. In his opinion, KDE is behind other projects in the marketing department, which makes many users miss out on the full range of functionality Linux has to offer through KDE. He notes: "We've heard too often "Linux can't do XYZ", while the KDE desktop offered that functionality for years. It's time we did something about that. Communication is key here."
